Terra Cotta Warriors

Like the other things we were lucky enough to see and experience on this trip, pictures do not do justice to the Terra Cotta Warriors. To think that there are thousands (8,000 discovered so far, and we were assured, more to be discovered) of these terra cotta figures that were built for the Emperor over 2,000 years ago, just boggles your mind.

There are five (5) types of warriors. They are:

The Kneeling Archer

This is the most important Terra Cotta Warrior, because this is the only warrior found intact (he only had a broken right hand). All of the other warriors have had major reconstructive surgery at the Terra Cotta Warrior Hospital, because the roofs had been burned and collapsed on the warriors.
