Beijing Zoo

We visited the Beijing Zoo to see the Panda Bears. There are other animals at the zoo, but the Panda Bears are why we braved the heat and humidity.

The fogginess in these pictures is caused by all the humidity on the glass enclosure protecting the Panda from us tourists.

Whew, the tourists are finally outside in the open air (so are the Pandas).

When you get to the Beijing Zoo for tickets, just purchase the panda tickets, do not purchase the boat tour. It was the boat ride from hell. It’s a slow boat down a small canal that drops you off at one of the temples. Instead, if you have time, purchase combination tickets to Zoo, Panda House and the Aquarium. You will appreciate the air conditioning as it is very hot and humid during the summer.

Also, for 10 Yuan ($1.33 US) you can take a small speed boat up and down that same small canal. It’s pretty fun, and the speed gives you a break from the heat.
