Peking Duck

We had asked our tour guide to the wall where he would go for Peking Duck, he gave us a list of three restaurants. The first one was the most famous, but he also said that their quality wasn’t as good as it used to be. The third one was modern, but the duck wasn’t as good as the first one. He said the second restaurant was where he likes to eat.

We also asked the concierge at the Peninsula, and she said the same thing about our tour guide’s list. We asked her to make reservations at restaurant #2 and jumped in a taxi.

We arrived at Xiao Wang’s Home Restaurant (it’s down a small alley the the Chao Yang District).

Right outside the restaurant is the wood-burning duck roasting oven.

This is how good the restaurant is…….we came back the next night for dinner also. The prices are also reasonable. We spent 400 Yuan ($53 US) for a ton of food, including two Peking ducks. If you are ever in Beijing, get to Xiao Wang’s Home Restaurant for dinner. You will not be disappointed.
